MBD has been engaged in productive and ongoing detailed discussions with the Federal Government, and the State Governments of Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria.

To date MBD and JCU have been successful in securing government funding and assistance, including the following.

The Advanced Manufacturing Co-operative Research Centre (AMCRC) was established by the Federal Government to provide grant funds to encourage significant commercial projects from collaborations between industry and academia. MBD and JCU have now been formally accepted into the AMCRC and are currently progressing a detailed program of R&D focused on commercial outcomes to assist MBD establish a successful commercial algae project and help create an algae industry within Australia.

MBD has and will continue to benefit from the Federal Government’s R&D Tax Rebate Policy which enables the Company to claim 45% of all private equity funds expensed against R&D activities as an annual cash rebate under the R&D Taxation Scheme.
